The Pensions and Social Security Section of the DGHR Department was established to serve the future and welfare of Dubai government's employees, particularly across key concerns like pensions and social security. This section deals mainly with following up pensions and social security concerns and specializes in the following:

  1. Following up registration of government agencies with the General Authority for Pensions and Social Security (GPSSA).
  2. Following up the subscription of UAE citizens working in government institutions.
  3. Coordinating with the GPSSA on determining the subscription account salary for the insured employees, in accordance with the directives of the government.
  4. Coordinating with the GPSSA on the provision of insured and retirees' data from the government as well as periodic reports and statistics to government bodies.
  5. Receiving requests to add previous periods of service from government agencies or the insured and verify the related documents. This is in addition to calculating costs of addition and following up the same with the GPSSA.
  6. Receiving requests for legal service from government agencies or the insured and verify related regulations stipulated in the Law in this regard and following up with the GPSSA.
  7. Receiving requests to add pensionable periods and following up the same with the GPSSA.
  8. Following up with the GPSSA the payment of all costs and premiums of addition and purchase as well as pensionable periods for the insured.
  9. Providing the GPSSA with cases of end of service for the insured after reviewing, verifying the enclosed documents and the related reasons. This is in addition to making sure that their insurance dues are paid to them.
  10. Processing and settling of disputes relating to the payment of the monthly contributions and insurance benefits for the insured with the GPSSA in coordination with the Department of Legal Affairs of the Government of Dubai.
  11. Reviewing legislations related to pensions and social security to propose necessary amendments and forward the same to the GPSSA through the Department of Legal Affairs.
  12. Preparing studies related to post-retirement programs and services.
